With the recent passing of the Religious Liberties Bill here in Mississippi and all that has been written and talked about by the liberal main stream media since I figured I would chime in with my two cents.
First it needs to be stated I am very conservative, I belong to the Constitutional Party, (yes you can look it up) I am also a Reformed Baptist who believes in the infallibility of scripture. The end of the Bible in the book of Revelation Chapter (KJV) 2218For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. That means what God wrote I accept as truth and cannot and will not change.
That being said the liberal media paints a picture of hate and discrimination about believers like me surrounding issues like this. Nothing could be further from the truth. We, that is true born again believers are commanded, not asked, to love our neighbors; Matthew 22:36-40 ESV“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” and this of course includes those of the LGBT community. No one let me repeat no one claiming to be a Christian can truly be a Christian and HATE someone from the LGBT community.
The word of God not the word of man says that the LGBT lifestyle is wrong. That those apart of the community are caught up in the bondage of sin and in need of being set free. As a Christian I (we) have two duties. First is to share the Good News Psalms 96:3 NKJV “Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples.” that Christ is the way to true freedom. Note as the Apostle Paul stated we are to always do this with gentleness 2 Timothy 2:25 ESVCorrecting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, that God may be at work and not us.
Secondly we are called to never compromise the Word of God. Psalm 119: 1-4 (AMP) How blessed and favored by God are those whose way is blameless [those with personal integrity, the upright, the guileless], who walk in the law [and who are guided by the precepts and revealed will] of the Lord. 2 Blessed and favored by God are those who keep His testimonies, and who [consistently] seek Him and long for Him with all their heart. 3 They do no unrighteousness; they walk in His ways. 4 You have ordained your precepts, that we should follow them with [careful] diligence. Yet this is exactly what we are being called to do. The liberal minority has deemed this truth, Freedom of Speech (which this falls under) is this; you are free to agree with their liberal viewpoint or our speech is free to be censored and or outlawed or we are free to be imprisoned. It begs the question; who is being discriminated against here?
My Pastor last night made an interesting observation. If this was about anything more than wanting full acceptance for the LGBT community, they would look at this as a great opportunity. Start a business that caters to just that clientele, if as they claim their number are so strong they should do great and leave those with strongly held religious convictions alone.

As you may know this ministry attempts to avoid "political" overtones and focus on biblical truths. Sometimes however those two collide and it is our duty to speak out.
The comments said recently by Melissa Harris-Perry, an MSNBC host and Tulane University professor, on national TV are such a case. She stated “We haven’t had a very collective notion of, these are our children. We have to break through our private idea that children belong to their parents, or children belong to their families, and recognize that children belong to whole communities. Once it’s everybody’s responsibility and not just the household’s, we start making better investments.”
This statement, the very notion that the family is not responsible for their own children should have the "danger Will Robinson" alarms ringing in every "Christian" home. It clearly says that the biblical model for a family has no place in our society. That the family, the duties of parents and role of children God so clearly lays out is nonsense, really?
The bible from the beginning is clear on the importance of the family. God create man and then wife and gave them children (the only biblical family unit) Genesis 2:18-24; 4:1-2. God then saved not a bunch of men but a Noah and his family Gen 6:17-19. In Deuteronomy 6:6-9 we clearly see God setting for the command for parents not the state to teach theirchildren. Proverbs 22:6 echo's this saying we (Husband and wife) are to train up our children. It does not mention the nation of Israel having any responsibility here. In fact the bible is clear on the importance of the family as a whole and each persons role. The husband is the head and it is his responsibility for all that happens in the family. [Oh that we could find men of that stature today] Wives are to love and support their husbands, both parents are responsible for raising their children and seeing to their well being. Children are to love and obey their parents. God places so much importance on family interaction, family instruction and caring for each other that 1 Timothy 5:8says (Amplified Bible) If anyone fails to provide for his relatives, and especially for those of his own family, he has disowned the faith [by failing to accompany it with fruits] and is worse than an unbeliever [who performs his obligation in these matters].
You who know me know I could go on for some time, do not worry I won't. Instead I will close and leave you with Rick Santorum's response to Melissa Harris-Perry's comments.

Children belong to parents, not government
Exclusive: Rick Santorum sets left straight on who can best raise kids
Karen and I are blessed with seven children, including one very special needs little girl, Bella. There are many days when we are overwhelmed or dead tired or frustrated or all of the above. I’m sure all parents can relate. It’s just part of being a parent. But like millions of Americans, we also know it’s the most important job we’ll ever have.
In 2005, I wrote a book called “It Takes a Family” about the importance of a strong family in raising children and imparting virtue. The title was in contrast to a well-known book Hillary Clinton wrote, “It Takes a Village,” which offered a very different approach to raising children. She believes, as many on the left do, that the family is secondary to institutions and governments when it comes to looking after the interests of children. Karen and I disagree. We believe in the primacy of families and have worked throughout our careers on creating and promoting policies and ideas that make stronger families. The fact is, without stable families as the bedrock; our country will fracture and collapse.
Since those books were published, we have seen an expansion of at times well-meaning, government early childhood programs and laws that subtly replace parental responsibility and discretion for government indoctrination and edict. Well, if MSNBC’s latest offering is any indication; it appears that the left feels the need for subtlety has passed. Last week, Melissa Harris-Perry, an MSNBC host and Tulane University professor, said in an MSNBC network promotion spot that, “We haven’t had a very collective notion of, these are our children. We have to break through our private idea that children belong to their parents, or children belong to their families, and recognize that children belong to whole communities. Once it’s everybody’s responsibility and not just the household’s, we start making better investments.”
So we go from telling the small businessman that “you didn’t build that” to telling parents that “they don’t belong to you!” It harkens back to Marxism’s trumping of the family in favor of the state. It’s only a matter of time before we hear another MSNBC promotion message advocating for constructing collectives for the children to be properly indoctrinated.
And while Ms. Harris-Perry’s comments made some news and upset many, another case has not gotten the attention it deserves and is equally as troubling. The Romeike family from Germany came to the United States a few years ago seeking political asylum. You see, Uwe and Hannelore Romeike and their five children are Christians, and they believe strongly that the textbooks used in German public schools teach against their values. However, in Germany, families must send their children to government schools. They refused and taught them at home instead. After suffering fines, threats of prison and police coming and forcibly taking their kids to school, the Romeikes left everything behind and came the U.S., where they were granted asylum.
Subsequently, the Board of Immigration Appeals overturned the asylum and ordered them to be deported back to Germany. Later this month, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals will hear the case. You may be surprised to learn that the Obama administration decided to weigh in on this case by filing a brief in the case advocating the Romeikes’ deportation. The president argued that there is no fundamental human right to educate your own children.
So it’s not just MSNBC that thinks that your child’s rearing belongs to the state. The president, like so many on the left, believes that the state should form the hearts and minds of our youth so they think the way the government wants them to think.
More than 100,000 signatures have been collected on a petition on the White House website from citizens who support the Romeikes’ case. I have no illusions that Attorney General Holder will alter his brief or President Obama will change his mind on who can best raise children. However, I ask you to sign this petition to at least let the Romeikes, and millions of others who look to America as the one place where dictators and bureaucrats don’t control everything, know that our president does not speak for you or America.
In light of the recent shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT this posting will be different.
Many have asked; how can this occur especially around Christmas. Our Pastor’s sermon yesterday reminded us that this is not the first such incident in recorded history. Have we forgotten what Herod did to the children of Israel around Christmas 2 AD? He had them all murdered.
Webster’s 1828 dictionary defines chaos as: That confusion, or confused mass, in which matter is supposed to have existed, before it was separated into its different kinds and reduced to order, by the creating power of God. Let’s see confused state check, without order check, without God, check. So where is the misunderstanding? We should be wondering why it has not happened more often. We have removed God from our schools, our laws and our lives. How can this happen you ask, I unfortunately know how can it not?
Maybe it is time we as a nation revisit the failed socialist policies of the past. Maybe it is time we reinstated God in our schools and our laws. Maybe it is time we educate our children with the 10 commandments starting with THOU SHALT NOT KILL. Maybe it is time we read our bibles and learned from other nations who defied and defiled God. Maybe it is time we read the 34th Chapter of Isaiah:
1 Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it.
2 For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.
We of course pray for the families of all the victims.
We pray for the survivors, especially the children may they find peace in the bosom of God.
We pray for our nation, a nation that has turned its back on God. We cry out to God and ask He favors the remnant of believers and returns His hand of divine protection upon us.
We pray for our government leaders and ask God for divine intervention in their decisions, that they be biblically based.
We pray for all those with medical, financial, employment, nad housing needs. As well as our ministry and missionary partners around the world.
After the results of Tuesdays presidential race that saw President Obama reelected I thought I would share a few thoughts.First two articles passed to me by good friends
From a Brother in the Lord:
Our country just re-elected a President that supports killing unborn human beings, supports gay marriage, lies through his teeth (i.e., Benghazi), could make it illegal to preach against sin from the pulpit (Hate Crime Prevention Act, now law) – folks, our country does not have a political problem…we have a spiritual problem. May God have mercy on our nation! May each of us examine our own hearts so that we may be a light to a dark world.
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. 1 Corinthians 16:13
How I Absorbed Three Punches and Stood Up Anyway
Although I’ve been worried about this election for months, only in the aftermath did I realize that I never really thought our country would re-elect a President who has been such an abject failure by any and every measure. It just didn’t seem possible that we would do so, and so at some level I didn’t expect it at all. As the results rolled in, I found myself reeling, unable to take in the enormity of what has happened to our nation. I scarcely slept, unable to stop running through the implications of the disaster. I was, to put it mildly, knocked down and stunned.
But God is gracious, and eventually I slept, and this morning I find myself back up off the mat. Looking back, I can see what it was that took me so by surprise. I allowed myself to think too highly of my country – to imagine that the American optimists were right and that there is something exceptional and wonderful in the American spirit which pulls us through the worst crises. That smugness was knocked out of me by a series of blows as I realized anew that we are a culture of sin, a culture of stupidity, and a culture under judgment – none of which really surprises me in the light of day. Those blows absolutely leveled me last night, but today I’m standing. Here’s why:…. For the whole article click here: chantrynotes
Now I for one was not stunned to see President Obama reelected. We (America) have become a nation of what’s in it for me, just do it and lack the motivation to change. Of course the guy promising more free handouts would be reelected. Come on I mean why work when the government will give it to you for free? That’s the America our forefathers envisioned is it not.
Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." John Adams-October 11, 1798.
Thomas Jefferson wrote: "God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are a gift from God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, and that His justice cannot sleep forever."
Unlike the message many republican pundits are sharing today I believe, as I have reiterated for some 7 years” the “blame” rests squarely on the shoulders of the “Christians” in this country.
For the past 50 years we have as a whole, stood by while our Christian heritage and values were systematically stripped from the landscape of our nation. As my good friend Pastor Don Elbourne of Lakeshore Baptist Church in MS stated in the recent Apologist, The moral fabric of America has worn so thin, you can see through to the nation’s underwear.
But God has spoken, did you hear Him?
And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's.
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
God is sovereign, nothing happens outside His control. The election went the way He ordained. Why; I cannot for certain answer. I do know that no matter who won the election the government of this nation and every nation rests squarely upon the shoulder of one person, Christ Jesus. Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Now what America? Do we play the blame game and get nothing accomplished for another 4 years? Do we rant on about what could have been or why it's not? I for one agree with the writers of the two articles shared, that America does not have a political problem we have a spiritual problem.
How about we restart another Christian value from our past and begin with prayer. Lots and lots of prayers are needed.
We can pray for:
1) President Obama,
Pray he lives up to his claim of being “Christian” and begins his tenure anew asking God for guidance in all things
2) Pray for our elected leaders at the national, state and local level
Pray they can put aside political lines and turn again to the policies and values that once made America the envy of every country in the world.
This Christmas, 78% of Americans Identify as Christian
Over time, fewer Americans identify as Christian; more have no religious identity by Frank Newport
PRINCETON, NJ -- This Christmas season, 78% of Americans identify with some form of Christian religion, a proportion that has been declining in recent decades. The major reason for this decline has been an increase in the percentage of Americans claiming no religious identity, now at 13% of all adults. (Compared to 2% in 1948)
We may be declining but 78% of 311,829,811 is still a large amount of folks. A real MAJORITY!!! So you tell me, if 243,227252 Americans claim to be Christian, which is they not only believe in but adhere to the precepts (teachings, rules, instructions, laws) of the bible how can we expect less than God’s wrath against us?
4) Become educated:
Ignorance and indifference got us here in the first place. It’s time we determine who is best to represent us not because of their smooth talking. Lest you become who prefers lies and tall tales.
2 Timothy 4:23-43 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5) Become involved.
This so called wall (fictitious) separating church and state has never ever existed. It is a figment of the imagination. For most of the first century of our fledgling nation the one had to declare and be recognized as a Christian to even hold office.
Titus 2: 7-8 (Amplified Version) 7 And show your own self in all respects to be a pattern and a model of good deeds and works, teaching what is unadulterated, showing gravity [having the strictest regard for truth and purity of motive], with dignity and seriousness.
8 And let your instruction be sound and fit and wise and wholesome, vigorous and irrefutable and above censure, so that the opponent may be put to shame, finding nothing discrediting or evil to say about us.
6) When we are done praying, tired of praying, or at a loss for words we need to buckle down and pray some more.
Under the present administration, strident measures are being taken to eliminate God, Christ, and the Bible from the public arena and beyond. Yet, it was not that long ago when another president had something very different to say. This is a remarkable video!
Pray that whomever is elected this fall, they will be as godly a man as this one was.
